‘Jurassic World’ DLC Brings Dinosaurs to ‘Minecraft’

Minecraft Jurassic World (Mojang)

A new Jurassic World DLC is now available for Minecraft, bringing tons of new dinosaurs and other awesome features to the hit video game. Now, players will be able to build and operate their own fully functional park, complete with dinosaurs to craft and train. While the DLC includes recognizable locations from the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies, players can also build their own facilities to house their different dinosaurs.

Of course, there are plenty of references to the films, and this includes featuring over 20 new skins of characters you might recognize. In the trailer, we can see blocky versions of Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), and Robert “Clever Girl” Muldoon (Bob Peck). We can also see new vehicles added to the game straight from the films, such as the 4-wheelers and even a helicopter.

The first Jurassic Park movie was released by Steven Spielberg in 1993, instantly spawning a massively successful film franchise that continues to this day. After getting two sequels, the franchise was rebooted with 2015’s Jurassic World, which found even greater earnings at the worldwide box office. The 2018 sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, also performed tremendously well with over a billion dollars in earnings. The next film in the series, Jurassic World: Dominion, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 11, 2021.

Minecraft is available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. The new DLC is a paid add-on that will also need to be bought separately. You can pick up the Jurassic World DLC for Minecraft now, and you can watch the trailer for the bonus content below.
