The cast and screenwriter of the original Scream will reunite for charity this Saturday. Along with screenwriter Kevin Williamson, the virtual reunion will bring in Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGown, Jamie Kennedy, and David Arquette. Variety is hosting the event with Jenelle Riley moderating, and fans will be able to submit their own questions to be answered live.
Ulrich and Lillard were revealed to be the Ghostface killers at the end of the first movie, and they haven’t been seen in the franchise since. Of course, that’s largely due to the fact that both characters were seemingly killed off at the end of the film. Still, Lillard has previously revealed that there were early plans for Stu Macher to reappear in Scream 3 before high school shootings in the United States brought about major rewrites that took him out of the story.
It’s also going to be interesting to see the Riley siblings back together again. Although Dewey Riley (Arquette) has survived all four movies in the series so far (with fingers crossed he’ll also make to the end of Scream 5), his younger sister Tatum (McGowan) was killed by a garage door in the original film. McGowan obviously hasn’t been seen in the Scream series since, so seeing Arquette and McGowan sharing a stage will make for an interesting moment.
In any case, it’s going to be a real SCREAM to get the old gang back together. Notably absent from the meeting is Courteney Cox, but for what it’s worth, we’ll still see her return to the role of Gale Weathers-Riley in Scream 5, due to release in January 2022. The Scream reunion will go down on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT. You can find out more info and check out the reunion via Looped Live.
