Remember Dunkaroos? They’re back – in cereal form.
General Mills has revealed that they’ll soon be releasing an official Dunkaroos cereal. Inspired by the ’90s snack that countless kids from the decade will remember from their packed lunches at the time, the vanilla-flavored sweetened corn cereal was officially announced as part of a new line of cereals soon to hit store shelves. With tiny sprinkles on top, the cereal looks enough like a cereal version of Dunkaroos, but let’s just hope they manage to capture that distinct taste.

Other new cereals revealed by General Mills include Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios, Strawberry Cheerios, Sesame Street Cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chocolate Churros, Wonderworks Keto Chocolate, Wonderworks Keto Cinnamon, Wonderworks Keto Peanut Butter, and Pokemon Berry Bolt. There are also new cereals coming inspired by Larabars with the flavors Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Cashew Cookie, and Apple Bar.
First launched by Betty Crocker in 1990, Dunkaroos were packaged cookies and with dippable, sprinkle-filled frosting. The product is just as memorable for its classic television commercials as it is for its taste. Initially, Dunkaroos were discontinued in 2012 in the United States, but due to a recent resurgence of nostalgia for the tasty treat, General Mills has since begun selling the snack once again in certain locations. A cookie dough flavored like Dunkaroos has also been introduced, if you wanted another way to enjoy the food.

It was perhaps a matter of time until Dunkaroos finally became a cereal as well. According to the official Dunkaroos Twitter account, the cereal will be available to purchase in early January 2021. If that’s too long to wait, you can always track down the classic Dunkaroos in a store near you or pick up the cookie dough.
