Update (August 2023): The Lost Boys is no longer available on YouTube but is available for free on Pluto TV!
If you’re looking to revisit The Lost Boys, the iconic vampire movie is currently streaming for free on YouTube. Originally released in 1987, the film was an instant success both with critics and at the box office. Two sequels would be released in subsequent years, along with comic book spinoffs and a planned TV series reboot. Still, for many fans, there will never be any topping the original film.
Joel Schumacher directed The Lost Boys using a script by Janice Fischer, Jeffrey Boam, and James Jeremias. It stars Jason Patric, Keither Sutherland, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Dianne West, Barnard Hughes, Edward Hermann, Jami Gertz, Jamison Newlander, Billy Wirth, Brooke McCarter, and Alex Winter. Set in Santa Clara, California, The Lost Boys follows a group of youngsters banding together to thwart the hungry vampires plaguing the city at night.

“Joel Schumacher was always telling us on the set that we were making film history,” Newlander said of the film at For the Love of Horror 2019. “He was sort of joking, he wasn’t totally serious, but maybe he was; maybe he saw it. I’m totally surprised, but not surprised at all when I look at the movie. I watched it again, like 10 years ago. I could finally see it without criticizing every little move I made, and I was like this is a good movie, so in that part, I’m not surprised.”
Indeed, The Lost Boys still holds up as one of the best vampire movies any made. The official trailer for The Lost Boys is below, and you can watch the movie in full on YouTube Movies.
