The end of next month marks halfway to Halloween, and we couldn’t be more excited! Shudder is joining the fun by adding some thrilling horror titles to its library.
The new movies coming to Shudder in April feature a film from Hell House LLC creator Stephen Cognetti. The filmmaker has been exclusive to the Hell House LLC franchise since 2015, with another installment underway, so we can’t wait to see what he does with 825 Forest Road.
Religious horror fans won’t want to miss Michael Peterson’s Shadow of God. The film follows a priest (Mark O’Brien: Ready or Not) who uncovers dark secrets about his past and family. Shudder subscribers can also check out Dead Mail, described as a “synth-laden retro-thriller.” The movie received favorable reviews in the 2024 festival circuit.
Last but certainly not least on the list of movies coming to Shudder in April is Fréwaka. The film follows a caretaker who looks after a woman terrified of sinister, fairy-like creatures from Irish folklore.

Irish folk horror from Aislinn Clarke (The Devil’s Doorway) follows home care worker Shoo, who is sent to a remote village to care for an agoraphobic woman who fears the neighbors as much as she fears the Na Sídhe — sinister entities who she believes abducted her decades before.
