E3 2019: ‘The Witcher 3’ Coming to Switch with Existing DLC

Announced today during today’s E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slashing its way onto the Nintendo Switch. The Witcher 3: Complete Edition will bring all the fun of The Witcher 3 and its expansions to the portable console. This includes the very sizable DLCs- “Blood and Wine” and “Hearts of Stone.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be joining a handful of other games that received Nintendo Switch ports that you would never expect on a Nintendo console, like Skyrim, Dark Souls, LA: Noire, Friday the 13th: The Game, and Diablo 3.

As the third game in The Witcher series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first launched back in 2015. There is no doubt the game will get a breath of fresh air when it is revived on the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year. E3 2019 has proved that this is a big year for Polish video game publisher CD Projekt Red. During Microsoft’s recent E3 conference, we got another in-depth look at the game company’s upcoming dystopian game, Cyberpunk 2077. The briefing was complete with a rather exciting cameo from Keanu Reeves himself. You can read more about that cameo, and check out the new trailer, here.

In addition to all of the video game excitement, a television series adaptation of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently in the works, with Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Justice League) taking on the role of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter also known as a Witcher. The series is set to release exclusively on Netflix later this year.
