E3 2019: ‘Luigi’s Mansion 3’ Takes Us to a Haunted Hotel

Nintendo fans got to see a lot more gameplay for the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 3 in today’s E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, after announcing the title for the first time nine months ago. Nintendo has created an interactive booth at E3 and plans to show exclusive gameplay during Nintendo Treehouse Live at the event.

Set in a haunted hotel that seems straight out of a Ghostbusters x Twilight Zone mash-up, Luigi and pals (including GOOIGI, Luigi’s slimy twin) are ready to bust some poltergeists. What better way to do so then with Luigi’s newest ghostbusting vacuum, the Poltergust G-00? This new version of the vacuum includes the ability to do slam attacks, destroy shields, and a large area attack.

Each floor of the hotel has a different theme, which brings different ghosties and various challenges for the titular plumber. As you make your way through each level, you will gain access to the ones above.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 will include a co-op mode that supports up to four players, called “ScareScraper” mode. This mode can be played locally or online. The game is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch sometime during 2019, but no official release date has been given at the time of this article. E3 is the world’s premier event for computer and video games and related products.
