E3 2019: ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Gets a Release Date…and Keanu Reeves

Cyberpunk 2077 Keanu Reeves
CD Projekt Red

Possibly one of the most anticipated games EVER has received a release date, and an extra little surprise. During Microsoft’s E3 conference today, another in-depth look at CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 was shown with a rather exciting cameo at the end.

Cyberpunk 2077 has the players step in the shoes of V, a rising star in the hired gun world who just got the contract of a lifetime. Of course, you will be able to play as either male or female with the ability to customize your character the way you want them.

Sure, everyone was excited about the release date, but that paled in comparison once Keanu Reeves came on screen. Yes, John Wick himself is in Cyberpunk 2077! Keanu Reeves plays a character who seems to be named Mr. Fusion, but that is all that is known about his involvement in the game…for now.

Keanu then came on stage and did what Keanu does best, build hype. He then asked if we wanted the release date, and I think more than a couple of people did, which is when he showed-off one last trailer that gave us the release date of April 16th, 2020. The game will debut for  Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One.

Polish video game publisher CD Projekt Red found massive success with The Witcher series, most recently with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015. The television series adaptation of the game is currently in the works, with Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) taking on the role of Geralt. The series is set to release exclusively on Netflix later this year.
