From “two of the @$%#s behind Rick and Morty” comes Solar Opposites, the all-new animated series heading to Hulu on May 8th. Ahead of the series launch this summer, Hulu has gone ahead and revealed the first look teaser trailer and official poster for the film, and the Rick and Morty inspiration is very clear right away. The amusing trailer also suggests the new series has the potential to be just as entertaining and will certainly be must-see for big fans of the show.
We’re pretty big fans of Rick and Morty here at Horror Geek Life. We were even pretty stoked by the Rick and Morty themed Pringles alone. While no new series can replace Rick and Morty (and it won’t, as that show will continue its epic run on Adult Swim), a similar animated series from some of the brilliant minds involved certainly has me intrigued. The teaser trailer itself is rather entertaining.
Synopsis: Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who have escaped their exploding home world, only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambroni) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty, while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living super computer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.
“Solar Opposites is coming! We can only show you the teaser right now, but the whole season will be out in a matter of weeks! Stay inside and stay healthy so you can watch and love this show and call us geniuses and all that sh-t,” co-creators Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan say of the new show in an official statement.
