Telltale Games Returns with ‘The Wolf Among Us 2’ Trailer

Telltale Games

Initially released in 2013, Telltale Game‘s The Wolf Among Us was one of the (now-revived) game company’s best titles. Almost ten years later, we’re finally getting a look at the long-awaited sequel. The Wolf Among Us 2 was initially shown off at the Video Game Awards back in 2019, where it was revealed that LCG Entertainment revived Telltale and acquired the rights to a number of their IPs.

On Wednesday afternoon, a half-hour showcase unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming game, along with details about what we can expect and when. The Wolf Among Us 2 will be released episodically in 5 parts as the first season. Unlike the first game, the sequel will be made in the Unreal Engine, making an already beautiful universe even prettier.

During the showcase, various details were revealed about what to expect from the new game. Season 2 sees Bigby attending anger management meetings after being suspended from his sheriff duties, hinting at significant character development for him next season. We also get introduced to Scarecrow and the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz and a new ‘Mundy’ (human) detective named Faye Leung, who seems to play a significant role in the game.

The Wolf Among Us 2 will pick up six months after the first game left off, with Adam Harington and Erin Yvette returning to reprise their roles as Bigby Wolf and Snow White, respectively. The Wolf Among Us is based on the comic series Fables which follows re-imagined classic fairy tale characters who are run out of their homelands and must learn to adapt to New York’s Fabletown district while hiding their true selves from the mundane.

Watch the trailer below to see what’s in store for Bigby and Snow in the new installment. The game is set to release on PC and consoles sometime in 2023. Telltale stated that the reason for the long wait is that they didn’t want to rush into it, and they wanted their first game back to be something they’re 100% confident in releasing. After a few recent video game releases, I can understand this mindset.
