As with any gaming convention or awards show, rumors and hype flows out like water from Niagara Falls. Paris Games Week was no exception. In an interview from Gamergen, they sat down with the Executive Director of Production over at IO Interactive, Hakan Abrak. For Hitman fans, there’s some exciting news that was announced.
Firstly, it seems that 47’s work is far from over, in that a second season is definitely in the cards. Also, they seem to infer that they may go beyond a second season. Meaning that some characters will become part of the scenery, and others meeting their end. To sum up, you’re playing a TV series in a way.
The interview was still a bit sparse for detail, but so far we know that it will be using the same engine as the first installment. This should mean that it will act like an expansion pack, instead of buying an entire new game. The unlocks you’ve obtained will be usable in the next season as well (Rubber Ducky fans rejoice!). Also, the elusive target will still be a thing, which will visit the old and new maps.
Even though season one has come to an end, they are still releasing the elusive targets to keep fans coming back. Now that a second season is confirmed, I’m excited like a kid on Christmas morning! I cannot wait to see what the next season has in store for Agent 47. If you haven’t checked it out yet, Hitman is available on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC now.
