Deep Silver and 4A Games have announced the next installment in the Metro franchise, Metro Exodus. Although we’ve only been shown a snippet of footage so far, there are a few notable details to mention.
The footage shows a post-apocalyptic warrior exploring the ruined tunnels of Russia while being hunted by dog-like mutants. It is not known at that time if the player character will again be series star, Artyom. The explorer manages to escape his mutated pursuers into the warm sunlight of the surface world. What’s notable is that the player takes off his gas mask on the surface, something that would previously have led to his death.
Metro Exodus then shows us the player battling a hulking beast in a ruined town, finally casting his enemy off a cliff and making his escape via zip-line. The player is then picked up by an ally on a nearby train in a thrilling escape sequence. This is all the footage we’ve seen so far, but as a huge fan of the franchise, I personally can’t wait to return to the tunnels of Metro Exodus. Check out the footage below.
So, what do you think of Metro Exodus? Are you preparing your hand-made bullets for the journey? Or do you prefer your dog’s un-mutated? As always, let us know in the comments and on social media!
