When E3 was in full force, we brought you a teaser from Atari. Given Atari’s latest news, we now have further information to provide. I say further, because they’re still keeping a lot of the info close to their chests. With that in mind, here is the first look at the Ataribox!

Including the lovely sleek look it’s boasting, the Ataribox also features four USB ports, an SD card slot, HDMI connector, and an Ethernet port. They’ll be two designs: You’ll get to choose between the original 1980’s Atari 2600, complete with wood finish, or, alternatively, you can chose an updated, more modern look.

Unfortunately, that’s all the info that’s come out for now. We still don’t have any specs, release date, games, or price. Although it seems like Atari are looking to jump in the mini-console pool with Nintendo, we simply don’t know what to expect. An Atari statement confirmed, “We’re not teasing you intentionally. We want to get this right, so we’ve opted to share things step by step as we bring this to life, and to listen closely to the Atari community feedback as we do so.”

The promising thing that we can take from this is that they are not rushing. This should mean the end product is will be class. Are you happy that Atari is coming back into the fray? Stay tuned and we’ll bring you more information as it comes on this retro gem!
