Gun Media and IllFonic have announced two upcoming additions to Friday the 13th: The Game today. First up are eight free emotes for counselor communication. Wanna give your teammate a thumbs up or motion to follow? Well, soon you’ll be able to. As anyone who has played knows, communication is important in Friday the 13th The Game. Unfortunately, not everyone who plays has a mic (but seriously, think about investing in one if you play!), so the emotes will come in handy in those situations.

Also, these are going to make for some hilarious video clips.

Note to the dev team: Middle fingers will come in handy at times

The second addition announced was Friday the 13th: The Game DLC in the form of variant maps. All three of the current maps – Camp Crystal Lake, Packanack Lodge and Higgins Haven – will have versions that are 40% smaller, which make them quicker to play through. As it is, the maps are not extremely large and get easier to navigate after just a few playthroughs, so Jason will definitely have the complete advantage. Perhaps he will have slower or dulled senses in those maps? Maybe the car parts will be easier to find? Time will tell. But there is no doubt the new maps will be a serious challenge even for experienced counselors.

This isn’t the only update Gun Media and IllFonic have coming for players. As previously reported, the team was in the studio with Kane Hodder and other stunt actors last week to work on new game kills. Randy Greenback, Friday the 13th: The Game’s Executive Director, showed off some of the new moves via Periscope and Twitter while in the mo-cap studio.

Both the Friday the 13th: The Game DLC and emotes will be free updates in an upcoming patch. There is no ETA for the patch at this time. There is also no ETA on the much anticipated single player mode, so fingers crossed it all comes soon.
