10 TV and Movie Fan Theories That Will Ruin Your Childhood

For many films and TV shows, fans have speculated that there’s something much bigger going on with the story than what we see. What if it’s somehow worse than you could even imagine? Let’s ruin your childhood by going through ten of the creepiest TV and movie fan theories found on the internet…

5Dr. Claw is the original Inspector Gadget

Nobody who’s seen Inspector Gadget will ever forget the gravelly voice of Dr. Claw. The iconic villain’s criminal schemes were always foiled by the titular inspector, leading Dr. Claw to always swear he’ll get Gadget “next time.” What’s most interesting about the character is that the series never actually showed his face, leaving the antagonist’s appearance a complete mystery beyond his trademark glove. What if this is because Dr. Claw’s face looks completely identical to Gadget’s?

With a bit of a “Robocop gone bad” vibe, one theory purports that Dr. Claw is the original Inspector Gadget. The story is that Gadget was originally a human detective who was horribly wounded by an explosion while on the job. To keep him alive, Gadget’s super-genius niece Penny built a complex robot version of her uncle, which is the lovable inspector we see in the series. Presumed dead and now disfigured, the “real” Gadget has since become Dr. Claw. This would explain why Penny is never harmed despite being captured in every episode, as Dr. Claw’s primary goal seems to be destroying his robotic clone.
