If you enjoy the new series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, you’re going to love this. Days after airing a special holiday episode for the show, Netflix has ordered two additional seasons. This is ahead of the show’s second season which has been given an April 2019 release date, and guarantees an additional two parts to follow along in the future. To reiterate, this means the show has been renewed through Season 4, and we have at least three new sets of episodes for fans to look forward to.

Production on the new episodes will begin in early 2019. The order is for 16 more episodes between the two seasons, but it’s not yet clear if it will be split evenly or if one will have more than the other. It’s worth noting that the first season consists of 10 episodes, with the upcoming Season 2 lasting a tad shorter with 9 episodes.

In response to the renewal, series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was more than happy to announce his excitement about the news:

“Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch. And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina’s chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.”

It’s no surprise to see the show pick up a renewal. With Netflix losing one of its flagship series with Daredevil getting axed, they seem quick to embrace their next big original hit in Sabrina. The streaming service does not divulge viewership numbers for their programming, but we can assume that the premiere season and subsequent holiday episode were big hits for the network.

Catch Season 2 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina when it premieres on Netflix on April 5, 2019. You can get a sneak peek at what to expect by watching the teaser trailer below!
