With remakes likeĀ Child’s Play and sequels likeĀ It: Chapter Two on the horizon, it’s clear the trend isn’t dying down anytime soon. True crime isĀ in right now, thanks in large part to Netflix. Their documentaries about real-life criminals are leaving some viewers more disturbed than typical horror movies would. Perhaps there’s a macabre fascination for these stories with their true nature making them more unsettling, knowing these things really happened. Of course, true stories about infamous murderers are also good inspiration for feature films as well.
We have seen many movies made about Charles Manson and the crimes of his followers before. What we haven’t seen, however, is a film made from the perspective of one of the victims.Ā The Haunting of Sharon Tate stars Hilary Duff in the role of the titular Manson Family victim, taking place in the days leading up to the mass murder. Haunted by visions of her own death, Sharon seems to be predicting the bloodshed that will soon befall her and her friends on that fateful night in 1969.
Considering we all know how this story plays out, it’s safe to expect a very depressing ending. If you buy a ticket to see this one, prepare to be disturbed.
Synopsis:Ā While pregnant with Roman Polanski’s child, actress Sharon Tate becomes plagued by visions of her imminent death.
