The upcoming video game Mortal Kombat 11 looks to be one of the best installments of the franchise yet. As the April 23 release date draws slowly closer, more fighters on the game’s roster have been officially revealed. In an all new trailer to promote the inclusion of the character, franchise favorite Johnny Cage has now been confirmed to appear in the game as a playable fighter, and with his trademark shades on, Johnny looks just as awesome as he always does.
Obviously, while it’s great for Johnny cage fans to see the character will definitely be in Mortal Kombat 11, the news isn’t exactly surprising. Cage has been a fan favorite since the very first Mortal Kombat arcade game was released in 1992. The character’s gimmick is that of a cocky Hollywood actor and martial artist intent on proving his toughness is more than stunts and special FX. Inspired by action movie actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, he was portrayed by Linden Ashby in the Mortal Kombat film adaptation. In the video games, Cage has appeared in almost every major title in the series since the original, and it’s nice to see him back once again for the newest installment.
