E3 2019: ‘Banjo-Kazooie’ Confirmed for ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’

In a highly-anticipated move at the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, the game company has confirmed Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie will be a new character(s) in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They will be available in their Fall 2019 challenger pack.

The bear and bird duo made their video game debut in 1998 on the Nintendo 64, with the popular platformer Banjo-Kazooie. A return to the Nintendo system via Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a natural step, and one that has been supported by fans. As for their fighting style, Banjo will be throwing the punches, while Kazooie will be capable of firing eggs and helping Banjo fly with her wings, as well as running and charging.

The E3 Direct reveal trailer shows a few other characters that fans of the series may recognize – including the series’ villain, a grizzled witch named Gruntilda. With golden feathers and the nostalgic music, this reveal trailer is a gift to longtime fans of the series. E3 is the world’s premier event for computer and video games and related products.
