COVID-19 Has Delayed ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 10 Finale

Due to the current pandemic going on, fans of the pandemic-based zombie show, The Walking Dead, will have to wait a little while to get closure on the current season. It was reported that the season 10 finale will not be airing next month as planned, and will instead air as a special episode later this year.

The episode’s principal photography had already wrapped, but post-production was interrupted by the Coronavirus, prompting the delay. Speaking of delays, The Walking Dead’s upcoming spin-of,f The Walking Dead: World, had its premiere delayed just a few days ago. It will be interesting to see how these delays affect the current plans for The Walking Dead universe’s major expansion. Alongside the new (now delayed) spin-off, the studio behind the show had plans for a series of films featuring the very-much-alive Rick Grimes.

AMC has released a statement on the matter:

“Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on Sunday, April 5. The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year.”

The Walking Dead’s 10th season will end prematurely on April 5th with episode 15, “The Tower.”
