During their conference today, Sony finally announced the topic on everyone’s mind. The price point and release date of the PS5 and it’s all-digital version. Xbox has already revealed this information about a week ago, and now with Sony’s reveal today, the information is all out on the table and real decisions can be made. The age-old question: Xbox or PlayStation?
Sony unveiled new looks at several games coming out, like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Resident Evil VIII: Village, and Deathloop, as well as some brand new titles, including Hogwarts Legacy and God of War Ragnarok.
Of course, what everyone was waiting for is information on when we can have the console, and how much will we pay for it. The PlayStation 5 will launch at $499.99 USD while the Digital Edition will be priced at a lower $399.99 USD . Both consoles will launch on November 12th in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Korea. The rest of the world will have to wait another week, they get it on November 19th.
Another interesting tidbit of information regarding the PS5 launch is the PS Plus Collection. The PS Plus Collection will bring the PS4’s biggest hits to the PS5 on launch day. This will be a benefit included in the PS+ subscription and will offer players access to a ton of PS4 classics that they can download and play on their PS5. Some of the games included in the collection: God of War, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Days Gone, Mortal Kombat X, Resident Evil VII, and another handful more. At first glance, this program seems like Sony’s answer to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, but it’s unknown at this time if Sony plans on growing the catalog.
