During the Gamescom 2021 Opening Night stream, we got our first look at a brand new Marvel game from 2K and Firaxis Games. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is an upcoming tactics RPG game set in the Marvel Universe and serves as an adaptation of sorts to the 1992 Rise of the Midnight Sons crossover event.

The game will feature many heroes related in some way to the occult such as Doctor Strange, Nico Minoru, Magik, Blade, and Ghost Rider. But the roster isn’t limited to just the occult. Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Wolverine are only a few of the characters joining in on the adventure, with many more not yet revealed.
A new character was also created specifically for the game. The Hunter is the child of the game’s big bad, Lilith, and will join the team of established characters as they go up against Lilith in the hopes to stop her (again). The Hunter is Marvel’s first fully customizable character and will serve as the game’s main playable character.

In Midnight Suns, players will develop and build relationships with their fellow heroes by talking to them, giving them gifts, and participating in hobbies. The game will have gameplay similar to that of the X-COM games and will rely heavily on dialogue-based relationship-building.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns has announced a March 2022 release date and will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Following Gamescom, a live gameplay reveal will stream on September 1st, 2021.
