Fans of surreal horror films should have Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool on their radar. Sundance Film Festival attendees will soon have the opportunity to see the film when it makes its world premiere on January 22nd. The rest of us can check it out on January 27th, when it is released by Neon.
Ahead of its anticipated debut, all-new character posters featuring Alexander Skarsgärd’s James Foster, Mia Goth’s Gabi, and Cleopatra Coleman Em Foster have been unveiled.
The film follows a couple, James (Alexander Skarsgärd) and Em (Cleopatra Coleman), who are staying at an isolated island resort. They enjoy a perfect vacation of pristine beaches, exceptional staff, and plenty of sunshine. But guided by the seductive and mysterious Gabi (Mia Goth), they venture outside the resort grounds and find themselves in a culture filled with violence, hedonism, and untold horror.
A tragic accident leaves them facing a zero-tolerance policy for crime: either you’ll be executed, or, if you’re rich enough to afford it,
you can watch yourself die instead.
Mia Goth has earned the title of scream queen and is one of the most exciting new faces in horror since the 2022 releases of Ti West’s X and Pearl. MaXXXine, the sequel to X and Pearl, is currently in development and will complete the trilogy.

Alexander Skarsgärd hasn’t slowed down either, as he starred in Robert Eggers’ 2022 Viking film The Northman. The actor also appeared in season 3 of the hit HBO drama Succession, Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand as Randall Flagg (2020-21). Cleopatra Coleman starred as Grace Pell in Hulu’s eight-episode miniseries Dopesick, which concluded in November 2021. She will also appear in Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, released on Netflix and in select theaters on December 22, 2023.
Brandon Cronenberg, son of horror master David Cronenberg, released the sci-fi horror film Antiviral in 2012 and Possessor in 2020.
