There was an awesome reveal for fans of The Walking Dead from E3 2018’s PC Gaming Show on Monday. Overkill’s upcoming The Walking Dead game received an awesome gameplay trailer as well as a release date! You may know Overkill from their previous games, Payday and Payday 2.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead has had a pretty rough history. First introduced in 2014 with a 2016 release date, it was subsequently delayed until 2017 and then pushed back again to 2018. Now, we have a concrete date for the game’s release, which is November 6th. In the past few weeks, the devs have been showing us glimpses of the game, including its setting and vignettes based on the four main characters- Aidan, Heather, Maya, and Grant. These characters finally unite in the gameplay trailer released during E3.
Teamwork is key as Overkill’s The Walking Dead offers four-player co-op, with each character possessing their own unique skills, attributes, roles, story arcs, and play styles. As the trailer shows off, you can go about an attack in more than one way. Stealth is a viable option if you have the patience for it, or you could just go bust some skulls. You will need to build a camp (and maintain it) and explore your surrounding areas as you eventually make your way out of Washington, D.C.
As mentioned, Overkill’s The Walking Dead has a release date of November 6th in North America. The game will be out on November 8th in Europe and the rest of the world. It will be coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Check out the E3 gameplay trailer below.
