The Joker will soon return to the world of Mortal Kombat, and a new gameplay trailer for the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 DLC gives us a good look at the Clown Prince of Crime in action. Perhaps at his most violent yet, The Joker makes an excellent addition to the bloody fighting game’s roster, and it’s going to be fun to finally pit him in a battle to the death with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800. Better yet, we even get a look at one of The Joker’s fatalities in the trailer, and the amusing kill is certainly befitting of Gotham’s deadliest villain.
When The Joker was first revealed as a part of MK11‘s Kombat Pack 1, his appearance was a bit different compared to how he now appears in the gameplay footage. This is likely because of the criticism over the character’s design, which was perhaps a bit too similar to an adult film parody version of The Joker. In any case, the changes were probably for the better, as the freakish supervillain is now looking pretty badass.
You can take a look at the official Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay trailer featuring The Joker below.
“Unpredictable, violent, and incredibly dangerous, The Joker, is chaos personified. He’s killed Robin, crippled Batgirl, and tortured and murdered countless people throughout the DC Universe. And now, he’s the latest Kombatant to join in Mortal Kombat.”
Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, The Terminator T-800, and Sindel have already been introduced as new characters for the game by way of DLC. After Joker, the comic book anti-hero Spawn will be added next, and that character will be available to download in March. This will complete the Kombat Pack 1 DLC’s roster of characters, but even more playable fighters will be soon to come when Kombat Pack 2 is introduced.
The Joker DLC will come to Mortal Kombat 11 on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC in early access on Jan. 28, and will be widely available on Feb. 4.
