Colorado Springs Comic Con

In what has now become an annual Southern Colorado tradition, Colorado Springs Comic Con returns for its third year to entertain fans of all things pop culture. Responding to requests for a bigger venue, Colorado Springs Comic Con has moved to a larger, two-story location at the Chapel Hills Event Center. And like the previous two years, the Con will feature the best from film, television, animation, wrestling, and cosplay.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet nearly fifty celebrity guests and another eighty artists/cosplay guests. Some of the many celebrities that will be on hand include Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings, Snowfall), former WWE champion Rey Mysterio, Natalia Tena (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones), Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series, the Batman: Arkham video game series) and a Revenge of the Nerds cast reunion!

Many artists from the world of comic books will be there as well, including artists such as Allen Bellman, Bob Layton, Dan Green, Derek Riggs, Ron Marz, and many more. Cosplay guests include AZ Powergirl, Kristi Kai, Rosanna Rocha, and Kristin Killtastic.

As always, attendees of Colorado Springs Comic Con can get photos and autographs with guests (for a fee, of course). In addition to the Nerds reunion, there will be a number of panels throughout the three days, such as The Walking Dead, Power Rangers with Jason David Frank, Team Bestie with WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita, and a Q & A session with Carl Weathers.

Guests to the Con can expect plenty of other great activities, such as a video game lounge, a tabletop gaming area, speed dating, and a kids con. A wide variety of vendors will also be present as well, so if you are looking for that elusive Funko Pop! figure you can’t seem to find, this may be your chance. Finally, if you need to let off some steam after the Con, there will be a Revenge of the Nerds After Party with many of the Colorado Springs Comic Con guests in attendance.

I visited the event last year and had a great time, meeting a number of celebrities, all of whom couldn’t have been nicer. The panels were very entertaining and well worth checking out. Additionally, there was a great deal of very cool, exclusive merchandise that I picked up. The entire event was a terrific value.

Colorado Springs Comic Con runs from Friday, August 24th through Sunday, August 26th. Tickets are currently on sale through the event’s website at www.cscomiccon.com starting at $25 for adults and $10 for kids between the ages of six and twelve.  VIP passes, photo ops, and autographs are also available on the site.
