E3 2021: ‘Rainbow Six: Extraction’ Gets Release Date and Gameplay

Ubisoft kicked off their E3 2021 stream with Rainbow Six: Extraction (formerly known as Rainbow Six: Quarantine). The upcoming game in the Tom Clancy series has players pitted against an evolved parasite featured in the Outbreak event from Rainbow Six: Siege. These parasitic beings are always spreading and evolving across the battlefield, and will react to the player’s presence.

In Extraction, you and your friends can take on this alien aggression with 1-3 player co-op and crossplay across all platforms. As opposed to the previous game, Siege, Rainbow Six: Extraction is set to be a PvE rather than PvP. Gameplay features various tiers of enemies including Breachers, Tormentors, and the Apex.

Extraction will feature operators that franchise fans will recognize from the previous games, like Ash, Ela, and Hibana, and a brand new gear unlock system. If Stasis Form takes over operators, they become M.I.A. and require extraction. Players will not be able to use that operator until their team extracts them from the extraction zone. Speaking of extraction zones, failure in these locations results in the player’s progress and upgrades being lost forever, so be careful.

Rainbow Six: Extraction is slated to launch on September 16th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
